At Manhattan Fencing Summer Camp in Englewood, NJ, kids engage in fencing and chess activities. Expert coaches teach fencing skills, conditioning, teamwork, and strategic chess in a fun, interactive environment. Camp hours: 9am-3pm.
Itinerary
Morning Session:
Warm-up exercises, engaging games, and conditioning activities
Fencing drills focused on footwork, strategy, target work, and coordination
Lunch Break (1 hour):
Time to refuel and socialize with peers
Afternoon Session:
Equipment preparation and focused fencing drills, including bouting
Chess instruction from 2pm to 3pm to explore tactics and enhance critical thinking
Prerequisites
No prior experience in fencing or chess is required. All necessary equipment is provided, and our dedicated coaching staff is prepared to support campers of all skill levels. Participants should be ready for a day of physical activity and learning.
What to Bring
Participants should bring a packed lunch, along with a water bottle and personal snacks. Additionally, it’s recommended to wear comfortable athletic clothing and non-marking sneakers.
