MACLA / Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana does not have upcoming sessions on ActivityHero right now. We can send you an email when they do.
Since 1989, MACLA/Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana has become a nationally recognized, contemporary arts space known throughout the Bay Area for our unique and innovative vision of using the arts as a catalyst for social change. We offer groundbreaking and risk-taking programs in the visual, performing and literary arts that intentionally bridge cultural divides. Our work challenges notions about contemporary Latino arts and culture, celebrates all cultures, engages urban youth and confronts urgent themes in today’s society.
We offer programs in Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Community Arts and Youth Education. We support new work and contextualize the artistic interventions of Latino and Latin-American artists into the larger framework of American and community-based arts. Our Youth Education program serves children of all ages. DMC Studio is a free, year-round arts education program serving youth ages 13-18. Family Art Day is a free arts participation program for families with young children.
We have done a background check and had all of our employees get their TB-Test. All of our Instructors are Professionals in their medium of expertise and have been formally educated.
