Overview

The community Kids' Races at the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix are open to all boys and girls ages 2-14, and almost two, too. Kids' Races are great fun for racers, families and friends, and are popular with the audience. FREE admission for spectators.

  • Tickets: Tickets include a race number, souvenir T-shirt, goodie bag, and medal. The medal is awarded when the racer crosses the finish line.
  • Bikes: Racers bring their own bikes and helmets. They may ride any bike, including a bike with training wheels, a balance bike, or a tricycle.
  • Heats: Kids are grouped by age and gender with each heat usually being just one age group within one gender (e.g., 6-year-old girls). Distance for 2–6-year-olds is 60 yards and 7–12-year-olds is 185 yards.
  • Check-in: Arrive at the Kids' Races booth near the Kids Zone ideally by 10:30 A.M. or earlier, opens at 8:30 AM. Come early to avoid the rush and enjoy the Kids’ Zone at 8:30 AM, pro races starting at 7:00 AM, local exhibits, and food vendors.

It was a great experience. My two littles had lots of fun doing arts and craft. All personal was very friendly and polite. Hope they decide to do it next year.
