Full-on Hands-on Science Fun!!
Microbes are tiny forms of life that surround us – too small to be seen by the naked eye. They are everywhere - in water, in the soil, and in the air, even inside our body. Some of these tiny bugs make us sick, others are essential for our health.
For a long time, biotechnology has utilized friendly bugs in the production of foods such as cheese, sauerkraut, kimchi, coffee, sour cream, vinegar, sausage, and yogurt. Other, not-so-friendly, bugs cause cholera, typhus, leprosy, tuberculosis, and anthrax. In our Tiny-bugs, Big-Picture Science Camp Campers will learn all about microbes – the good, the bad and the ugly. Campers will examine and investigate, both the risks and benefits of bacteria to better understand their role in disease and food production.
All experiments are designed to use child safe media.
Last day of Camp : Public Speaking instructions by partner UncoverU – each child will prepare, practice and present a topic learnt during the week of camp.
