Overview

Summer Camp activities for ages 6-12 will include:

Decorative Arts: Students will explore diverse design themes and techniques that are expressed in everyday life, like calligraphy and scrapbooking.

2D Arts: Students will be introduced to fundamentals of composition with lines, shapes and colors.

3D Arts: Students will learn to create texture and expressive shapes using fibers and upcycled materials.

Ceramics: Students will learn to build and decorate basic forms by hand with essential techniques like coiling, slab building, and pinching.

 

Summer Camp activities for teenagers (ages 13-17):

Young artists will tap into the knowledge of three professional instructors with many years of practical experience in studio art:

Nancy Jefferson, Ceramicist, will teach students how to manipulate and hand-form functional and decorative ceramic art pieces.

Joe Roache, Painter & Illustrator, will provide hands-on instruction in several mediums, including charcoal, ink, colored pencil, acrylic paints, and watercolors.

Bob Copper, Digital Artist, will teach students digital photography and the use of vector drawings for graphic design and animation.

 

Activities for teenagers will include:

Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 14 (10 days) 7:45AM – 5:30PM

Earth, Wind, Fire & Water​ (Call Street Entrance)

Fee: $340 members; $380 non-members

Capacity: 50 seats (40 children, 10 teenagers)

 

Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 28 (10 days) 7:45AM – 5:30PM

Shoots & Flowers (Call Street Entrance)

Fee: $340 members; $380 non-members

Capacity: 50 seats (40 children, 10 teenagers)

 

Monday, July 1 through Friday, July 12 (9 days) 7:45AM – 5:30PM

Fish, Reptiles & Mammals (Call Street Entrance) ​​(No Class on July 4th)

Fee: $300 members; $340 non-members

Capacity: 50 seats (40 children, 10 teenagers)

 

Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 26 (10 days) 7:45AM – 5:30PM

Food & Leisure (Call Street Entrance)

Fee: $340 members; $380 non-members

Capacity: 50 seats (40 children, 10 teenagers)

 

Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2 (5 days) 7:45AM – 5:30PM

Myths & Legends (Call Street Entrance)

Fee: $170 members; $190 non-members

Capacity: 50 seats (40 children, 10 teenagers)
