Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1

Drone enthusiasts (Ages 8-18) will embark on an exciting journey in the Drone Maker: Build, Code & Fly Camp. This camp is open to all skill levels, with no prerequisite knowledge in computers or robotics, making it a perfect starting point for aspiring Teen learners.

Students will learn with their age groups: Ages 8-10, 10-14 and 14+.

This camp is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).

Fun outdoor and indoor activities and plays are part of the camp experience.

At this camp, students will explore the world of drone engineering and coding, combining hands-on creativity with modern technology. They’ll learn how to design, build, and program drones, gaining experience in flight dynamics and creating custom maneuvers, while incorporating an interactive digital layer using Holographic Augmented Reality (AR).

Imagine this: coding drones to fly through terrains or perform creative flight patterns, all while experiencing the action through immersive AR simulations. Students will bring their ideas to life by blending engineering and coding with creative problem-solving.

Due to the complexity of the material, kids ages 8-10 will require more time to learn.

  • Ages 8-10: 2-week camp
  • Ages 10-14 and 14+: 1-week camp

The following hardware will be provided in the camp for each student. You have the option to purchase a set to take home for continue learning:

  • Drone Kit: A programmable drone.

The camp's curriculum is designed to be engaging and inspiring with following modules

  • Introduction to Drone Mechanics
  • Basics of Aerodynamics for Drones
  • Drone Motor Controls
  • Python Coding for Drones (Ages 10+)
  • Blockly Coding for Drones (Ages 8-10)
  • Drone Programming & Debugging
  • Introduction to AR Coding for Drone Control
  • Design Your Own Drone Application with AR Integration

What is the magic of the Drone Maker Camp?

This camp offers a unique experience by integrating traditional drone education with Holographic AR, providing students with an innovative and engaging way to explore technology.

  • Expanding Drone Engineering: Students explore drone mechanics, coding, and flight control, gaining foundational skills in a hands-on environment.
  • Holographic AR Technology Integration: A highlight of the camp is the use of Holographic AR, enabling students to remotely operate their drones in creative, simulated environments like futuristic cities or custom-designed obstacle courses.
  • Engaging and Interactive Learning: The integration of drone building with AR technology creates a dynamic learning experience where students see their creations take shape and come to life.
  • Building Core Skills: The camp emphasizes critical thinking, coding, and design. By iterating on their projects, students gain confidence and learn how to approach challenges creatively

Safety and FAA Compliance

We follow FAA regulations and additional safety measures to ensure lawful and safe operations for drones and space balloons.

Key Points:

  • FAA Rules: Govern drone and balloon activities to ensure safety.
  • Safety Guidelines: Protect students and equipment while teaching aerospace skills.

Student Compliance:

  • Operate drones only in approved areas.
  • Launch space balloons under FAA-approved conditions.
  • Use space drones only in controlled settings.

Adhering to these rules ensures a safe, hands-on learning experience in aerospace technology.

My twins tried out the 3D AR Coding and Game Design camp and it was pretty cool. They got to create games and we can play them at home, which was neat. They didn't need any coding skills to start, and they learned well. The teachers were helpful, and the projects they finished looked great. It was simple, fun, and they learned something new. Solid 5 stars from us for making learning fun and straightforward! They will be back this year to learn their AI robotics class.
