Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1

Space innovators (Ages 8-18) will embark on an exciting journey into the world of drone engineering, AI, and space technology in the AI Space Exploration Camp. No prior computer or space knowledge is needed. Students will receive NVIDIA AI certification after successfully completing the camp.

Students will learn in age-appropriate groups, ensuring the proper level of complexity and progression:

Ages 8-10: 3-week AI Space Drone Camp.

Ages 10-14: 3-week AI Space Drone Camp featuring NVIDIA AI, where they will earn an NVIDIA AI Certificate.

Ages 14-18 (High School): 2-week AI Space Drone Camp featuring NVIDIA AI, where they will earn an NVIDIA AI Certificate.

This camp is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).

Fun outdoor and indoor activities and plays are part of the camp experience.

Imagine this: programming AI-powered space drones to autonomously explore simulated space-like environments, analyze real-time data from above, and make intelligent decisions using AI. Students will harness the computational power of NVIDIA AI to process space data and uncover insights that bring their projects to life.

The following hardware will be provided in the camp for each student. You have the option to purchase a set to take home for continue learning:

  • Drone Kit (Week 1): A programmable drone equipped for customization and exploration of flight dynamics.
  • AI System with Camera and Helium Balloon (Week 2): An AI module integrated with the drone and paired with a helium balloon to simulate a zero-gravity space environment, enabling autonomous navigation and real-time data-based decision-making.
  • AI Space Communication System (Week 3): Tools for hands-on learning about LoRaWAN space communication, enabling long-range data transmission, and the NVIDIA AI platform for advanced data analysis and intelligent decision-making.

Students will learn robotics mechanics and sensors, robotics engineering control, robotics Camp

  • Introduction to Drone Mechanics
  • Basics of Aerodynamics for Drones
  • Drone Motor Controls
  • Python Coding for Drones (Ages 10-18)
  • Blocky Coding for Drones (Ages 8-10)
  • Drone Programming & Debugging
  • Introduction to AI
  • AI-Based Drone Control
  • Integration of AI and Camera for Autonomous Navigation
  • Interactive Coding for AI Drones
  • Introduction to LoRaWAN Space Communication
  • NVIDIA AI System for Real-Time Space Data Analysis & Application
  • AI Space Exploration

Collaborative Space Balloon Launch: Students will work together to launch a space balloon equipped with LoRaWAN communication technology to an altitude of 30,000 to 100,000 feet. The launch date and time will depend on weather conditions, FAA approval, and air traffic restrictions.

What Makes the three-week AI Space Exploration Camp Exciting?

  • The Magic of AI in Drones: See how AI transforms drones into intelligent explorers! Students will program drones to think and act autonomously, achieving incredible feats like intelligent navigation and task execution—bridging creativity and cutting-edge technology.
  • NVIDIA AI: Powering Real-Time Space Intelligence: Tap into the advanced capabilities of NVIDIA AI! Students will process complex datasets, analyze space-like images, and simulate intelligent decision-making—all in real time. It’s like giving drones the ability to "see," "think," and respond to their environment with precision.
  • Hands-On with Advanced Technology: Engage with the same tools shaping the future of AI, robotics, and space communication. Students will design, build, and innovate using advanced drones, AI systems, and communication platforms, gaining skills they can apply in real-world scenarios.
  • Innovate Like a Designer: Adopt the mindset of problem-solvers and creators! Inspired by Stanford University’s Design School curriculum, students will use design thinking to create AI and space exploration solutions that are both imaginative and practical.

This camp is a journey into the future of technology, where students explore, create, and innovate in ways that make learning both exciting and impactful!

Safety and FAA Compliance

We follow FAA regulations and additional safety measures to ensure lawful and safe operations for drones and space balloons.

Key Points:

  • FAA Rules: Govern drone and balloon activities to ensure safety.
  • Safety Guidelines: Protect students and equipment while teaching aerospace skills.

Student Compliance:

  • Operate drones only in approved areas.
  • Launch space balloons under FAA-approved conditions.
  • Use space drones only in controlled settings.

Adhering to these rules ensures a safe, hands-on learning experience in aerospace technology.
