Ballet for Beginners

You probably don't know this but our very own Melissa Swender (the Teacher) started as a Ballet dancer.  She danced with the Houston Ballet as a teenager and made her professional Ballet debut in the NATIONAL TOUR OF THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA playing Meg the lead ballet corps dancer. Melissa is so excited to teach Ballet and introduce kids to fundamentals and fun of Ballet. 

This class will focus on the basic fundamentals of Ballet and increasing body awareness. A big part of the class will be in “expressing yourself through dance”, where kids will use the steps they’ve learned to “dance how they feel.” A perfect class for kids working on self-confidence, balance, self-expression and musicality in a fun, safe environment.
