Heffalump Preschool Program

Heffalump Preschool was established in 1974 with the love and support from our community. 

Heffalump School is committed to music as our passion and learning as our core goal, while incorporating art in our school rooms to inspire young minds to grow by meeting the early learning needs of all children from 2 years of age up to 1st grade, with hands-on, accessible, and comprehensive early learning system.

We believe in nature as our universal teacher and express our gratitude to its five elements: earth, air, water, sun, and space. In our garden, each child has his/her own pot where they take care of their plants and there are one or two big pots for mixed age. By observing nature, kids learn about colors, shapes, and the life cycle of plants.

​At Heffalump, children enjoy creative hands-on projects: for example, we design alphabet, numbers, toys, etc. from clay, bake them, and hand paint them. We have also built our own puppet house where we regularly change wall colors painted by children (and sometimes conduct our puppet and theater show). Through basic principles of Yoga, our kids learn to look within for happiness and feel the rhythm of the breath to celebrate life. 

Our goal at Heffalump is to prepare children for the next stage of their lives through the development of motor abilities, thinking skills, and healthy interactions with their peers.

Our unique programs incorporate a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning. We are on a mission to provide every child quality care at affordable cost.

From language and literacy development to social skills and creative expression, the children at Heffalump are constantly being exposed to new activities and environments in which to thrive. We build on the strengths and interests of each child to help build a solid foundation where they can develop their future. 

We are year- round preschool and offer summer camps for June, July and August.

Extended care available upon request until 3 pm or 5 pm.
