Overview

Open to Everyone Interested in Learning German!

Join us this summer for a journey filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable memories.

Enrollment is open to current GISSV families and members of the San Francisco and Mountain View communities. Our summer camps are designed to provide enriching experiences for ages 3.6 to 14 and offer something special for everyone. From our immersive German pedagogy tailored for the youngest learners, featuring hands-on projects and outdoor activities, to our signature academic German language classes paired with afternoon fun exploring art, music, science, sport, movement and dozens of other enriching themes, there's an adventure waiting for every child.

The camp is scheduled to run from June 30th to August 1st, 2025, with no sessions on July 4. Full-day programs are available for preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle school students, from 9 am to 4 pm. Half-day options are also offered for preschool and kindergarten attendees, from 9 am to 12 pm. Additionally, morning and afternoon extended care is available if needed.

Camp Times:

  • Half Day Summer Camp for Pre-K and K only - 9am to 12pm
  • Full Day Summer Camp 9am to 4pm


Preschool Camp: Age 3.6 - 5

For preschoolers, we offer a loving play group with two camp instructors and max. 15 children.
Students enjoy a loving environment set up for Preschoolers to explore and thrive. crafts, games, and stories center on a weekly theme, building German vocabulary. Every day also includes lots of outdoor time and activities in the GISSV´s Kibili Playground. Students share circle time and breakfast, building their social development and readiness to learn in a school setting. After lunch, our KinderCampers rest for 1 hr of quiet time/nap time in an especially set up nap classroom, where each child has a cot, pillow, blankets, and everything they need to feel comfortable. After relaxing, students enjoy more crafts, games, stories, and outdoor play centered on the weekly theme.

The instructors speak in German only, but will respond to both spoken English and German. Children from all language levels are welcome from total beginner to native speaker.

AM Camp: 9am - 12pm / communal breakfast 9:30am - 10am
Half Day Camp Pick-Up 12 to 12:15pm Supervised Lunch: 12pm - 1pm
PM Camp: 1pm - 4pm / nap time 1:30pm - 2:30pm


Kindergarten Camp: Age 5 - 6

Our Vorschule Camp is just for Kindergarteners. In a group of 12 kids with one camp instructor, or a group of 15 kids with two camp instructors we begin to focus on the building blocks of academic German language learning. Following German pedagogy for children who are preparing to enter school, our program blends crafts, imaginative play, outdoor time, music and movement, and early academic learning.

The instructors speak in German only, but will respond to both spoken English and German. Children from all language levels are welcome--from total beginner to native speaker.

Registration will close on May 31st at 9 AM. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your child's spot soon! If your summer plans change and you wish to sign up for camp after the registration deadline, reach out to the camps team. Please note that a late registration fee of 10% will be applied to registrations starting June 1st.

Late pick up fee - A late pick up fee in the amount of $20 for every 10 minutes after the initial grace period will be assessed at pick up.
