Sketchbook Studio is now Gem Studio!

Here at Gem Studio, we believe that art matters. Our aim is to help children and adult learners alike grow through creativity, exploration, and imagination. Our art classes allow individuals to experiment with different art mediums, learn about artists and creators through history, and practice different artistic techniques - all while bringing people together. We provide a space and a place to share artistic experiences that so we can grow together.

Our Staff

Gem Studio is run by Stephanie Benetua, a Bay Area native and former owner of Sketchbook Studio. She has a Bachelors Degree in History of Art and Visual Culture from UC Santa Cruz, and a Masters Degree in Arts, Aesthetics & Cultural Institutions from the University of Liverpool. She has spent the past decade of her life dedicated to teaching art with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Little Tree Studios, and Sketchbook Studio.

Stephanie loves sharing her passion of art with everyone. She finds inspiration in the places she lives, the people she meets, and the students who bring so much light to her life.

The Hoop Embroidery camp at Sketchbook Studio was a great week. My kid loved doing the embroidering, but she also enjoyed the free choice weaving she got to do as well as the lunchtime excursions to Mission Playground. Counselors were lovely...responsible and engaging.
