Gamelandia

My daughter LOVED DnD! She looked forward to it all week. It was a real highlight of that moment in time in her whole life.
Tiny suggestion - it could be cool to have a couple particular groups specifically for kids who don't want to kill every living thing they encounter. ;) Though that seems harder to implement. And it sounds like the DM (forgot their name) did a great job of wrangling everyone toward a common goal anyway.

I am so lucky to have walked by Gamelandia. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the owner. If you or anyone you know, including children, love playing games, this is the place for you. It's hard to imagine that a small space can have all the games and books that they have. Please shop here to keep them around. I haven't even mentioned their game rooms and all of the game events that they host. I would give this store 10 stars if I could. This store is not to be missed.

I have never seen Noah being so excited and ready to go to camp, not to mention improving his game and coming back with Pokemon cards and other prizes. Amazing camp!!!

My son is in the Pokemon summer camp and is absolutely loving it. It is a mix of older and younger kids, and despite those age differences, he is having a great time and looks forward to it every day. Recommended!

Our daughter had such a fun time at Gamelandia. She was brand new to the world of DND and had such a wonderful experience learning as a beginner.

My son had lots of fun, and came back with a bunch of stories to tell us.

My 11 year old has enjoyed every activity they've done with Gamelandia. They've done the Dungeons & Dragons camp, the Learn to DM camp, and a kids' Magic the Gathering event. We really like how they send out a survey before the camp to find out kids' experience level and interests.

The only thing I would change is a later start time for the after-school programs aimed at middle and high schoolers, but it looks like their times line up well for kids who live in Palo Alto.

My son attended the DnD RPG camp and it was by far the best camp for him this summer. The DM Stelle was great with running games for a group of kids with mixed experience, and she was very good at being inclusive to get everyone engaged as a table. When some in the group didn’t like the content, she adjusted on the fly to another RPG game. She got the kids to let their imaginations run loose. The store itself was in a great location. I was able to drop off the kids in a secure fashion and enjoyed the stores at California avenue for a bit. We will be sending our son back here for other camps and activities.

My 10-year-old said the Gamelandia D&D camp was his favorite camp this summer, by a lot. We've signed up for the after school program this fall. The instructor, Stelle, was exceptionally good at managing all the different personalities in the camp so that everyone enjoyed themselves. I love that this is an activity that my kid loves that doesn't involve screens, and does involve other people. Win-win!

I thought my son mike like role playing games, it turns out he loves them. This camp by far was my sons favorite summer activity. Stelle who ran the group was is passionate and patient. She was more than just a game facilitator, she worked with the kids on social emotional development through the power of play. Lisa and Berry, the owner/ operators, create a welcoming, safe and fun environment for kids of all ages. We will be doing other camps with Gamelandia in the future.

We were looking forward to Pokemon camp at Gamelandia however they cancelled the Saturday before. I received an email notification about the cancellation but there was no explanation. I suspected it was low enrollment but who knows. I replied asking why but I never got a response.

Gamelandia is a community gem. It's an incredibly fun, welcoming, and happy place. Since it opened, Gamelandia has become a regular source of community for us and for our son, age 8. Our family has played D&D together here, hosted by DM Stelle, who was so well-prepared and made it engaging and fun for those of us who were total beginners and those who were more experienced. She created a world and storyline that was intriguing and exciting and helped each of us make great decisions about character-building. She clearly loves D&D and loves being a DM. Gamelandia is itself a wonderful place and the owners, Lisa and Berry, are incredibly kind and care about nurturing and encouraging young people who love games of all kinds. Highly recommended!
