Introduction To Debate & Public Speaking

This workshop will serve as an introduction to competitive middle school/high school debate. Students will learn fundamental debate skills such as: argument comparison and refutation, case writing, cross-examination, and research. Students will also have an introduction to the structures of common debate events and receive a plethora of resources that can be useful to their time in debate. By the end of the workshop, students will be fully prepared to participate in a debate tournament.

A few weeks before the workshop, we will send out necessary materials, schedule, and some pre-workshop reading that will help students make the absolute best use of their time at the workshop.
