Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 6:1

For students transitioning from novice Lincoln-Douglas debate to JV/Varsity debate.
We will focus on introducing basic varsity philosophy concepts so that students have a foundation for these concepts when they start to interact with them next year at tournaments.
We will also focus on the transition of speaking styles that occurs when moving on to JV/Varsity debate from novice debate. This will include an introduction to spreading or “speed reading.”
We will also focus on the transition from researching evidence at the novice level to working on more robust and efficient research practice for JV/Varsity debate.
Finally, we will have several practice debate rounds and will have a myriad of interactive “drills” to enforce the skills that students will learn at the workshop.

My daughter, Isabella went to this camp in middle school. Program had excellent instructors and small groups. She learned how to research, analyze and debate topics which she said was really helpful in high school. She had fun and learned a lot in two weeks. I highly recommend this program!
