Overview

Family Karate provides fun, fitness, karate, and life skills.  Now your child can enjoy our unique blend of martial arts and character building in our live online classes with a Master Instructor.

Here is what Moms and Dads love most about our classes: In each class we'll ask you to set a self leadership goal for your children, and in the next class we'll follow up progress on those goals.

We're here to help your child become even more engaged, strong and optimistic during this unique time.  We know that grit, resilience and laughter have never been more important than right now.

All of our classes provide social opportunities.  The Tuesday and Thursday classes are dedicated, small online-only classes where the kids can really connect with each other.  The Wednesday and Saturday classes are a simulcast of a bigger, live in-person class with a teacher dedicated to the online students.

My 7 year old autistic kid with ADHD was more engaged than I though he would be- it helped the rest of the attendees were regular students of his, wearing their karate gear, so that inspired my boy for sure. We stumbled upon Family Karate through a quick internet search for online karate. We somehow hit karate gold, when our search led us to Steve Truscott and Family Karate.
We were searching for a team-based activity offered from the safety of our home, given that our 6-year-old has been distance learning for a year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Family Karate is teaching our son karate (no previous experience), providing him a fun outlet involving other children in the class (all over Zoom), teaching ethical principles and core values to emphasize responsibility, and brings the family together for weekly online Family Night involving games and movies.
