The California Native Garden Foundation envisions a world where children have access to nature, people grow their own food locally, and there is a reciprocal balance between human activity and natural ecology. Towards this aim, CNGF hosts youth programs called Earth Heroes in our outdoor classroom, ELSEE (Environmental Laboratory for Sustainability and Ecological Education).
Your child can become an Earth Hero in our Homeschool Group. With a group of friends, amazing teachers, and special guests, Earth Heroes learn together about native plants and animals through play, stories, songs, cooking, art, science, and, of course, gardening! As your Earth Hero learns how to be a steward of our local ecology, they will gain confidence, feel empowered, and contribute to our thriving ecosystem.
Our learning community of CNGF’s teachers and families centers on shared responsibility and reciprocity with nature and each other. Together we will teach children how to become better stewards of all of life.
