The location/facility could be a bit better. The South San Francisco site is actually located in a 3-car garage. And while the art supply is plenty, it wasn't very good spending a lot of time in a place without much natural light. The material itself is really fun, my kid had a great time there and she came home to be an expert in jewelry making and taught the rest of the family. It's hard to tell how much she interacted with the staff there. I noticed that a lot of them aren't native speakers and seem a bit quiet from time to time.

My daughter really enjoyed this camp, and produce a Lotta good story from it. However, there was a situation involving the stomach flu, that affected the campers, and they did not handle effectively. So my daughter got sick, and I am currently sick. This is unacceptable. They are just now asking if you still need us to sanitize the bathrooms, but that should’ve been done much sooner, and maybe we would not have gotten sick. I’m scheduled to leave for vacation, and I feel like I’m dying.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about camp. We are so happy to hear that your daughter enjoyed her time with us.

Our policy is to regularly disinfect the classroom tables & wash supplies throughout the day everyday as well as have the children wash their hands multiple times a day and always before eating. We took immediate action including informing the school where we rent a space about the incidents. The school is run by a large corporate childcare center who is very familiar with proper sanitization requirements & who assured us that in additional to our own sanitation efforts the janitorial staff would sanitize the space. Viruses spread in children/classrooms and while our company can take preventative measures but we cannot prevent children from getting sick if they've already been exposed. In fact, to be extra cautious we sent our staff to work at 7:30am to all work together to wipe down everything the kids could possibly have touched.

The reason for the email chain was because we weren't sure if there was a food poisoning incident or a virus and we were keeping parents informed of all of our efforts to determine the cause and how we were handing it. We never mentioned anything about sanitizing the bathrooms in any correspondence with parents.

This stomach virus was terrible and we felt awful for the affected families & offered all families make-up dates in the future at their convenience. This offer still applies.

We truly are sorry that we had this experience & that you had to miss work. In the 13 years that we've worked with children in camps, parties & afterschool programs, We've never experienced anything like this before & certainly hope never to again.
