Given the importance of AI, both in how it affects our daily life as well as its impact on almost every industry, “Learning AI” has become a hot topic for many students and parents alike.
Unfortunately, to many people, AI, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, NLP, … are all just catchy phrases. Many parents want their children to learn AI and many students are interested in learning AI. But what should they learn? Should they learn to use some AI libraries or should they focus on machine learning? What are the best ways to get start. And what background is necessary to learn “AI”.
In this workshop, we will try to answer these questions as well as discuss our approach for “teaching AI” – going beyond the what (AI can do) to understand the how (AI works). With a focus on foundation, we expose students to the various approaches (paradigms) to AI by building an increasing more “intelligent” agent. In doing so, students will not only gain a deeper understanding of the field of AI (and how it works) but will also become a better computational problem solver.
