FORENSIC SCIENCE

July 5-July 7 (3 days)
8:30am-4:30pm  (extended hours - 8:30am-5:30pm)

Ages 6-8 - Young campers learn the science of solving mysteries as they test their observation and interview skills, investigate fingerprints, DNA and ink samples, and analyze clues left behind at our "crime scene."

Ages 8 -11 - Older campers take Forensic Science to the next level using microscopes to investigate hair, fiber and pollen evidence, learning how DNA sequences are analyzed, identifying blood types from synthetic blood, and recovering fingerprint evidence.

Click "See More Dates" to view both age groups.

Campers should bring two snacks, lunch and a water bottle each day, and wear close-toed shoes.

My son liked going to camp, I just don't think he learned anything much related to forensic science. He said they did some experiments of the first day, a review on the last day. The camp was only 3 days. A little overpriced for what they seem to offer. No outdoor time, even when it did not rain, they were allowed to bring an electronic device for their off time. The after care service is a lady sitting on the chair and your child just waiting to be picked up.

Milan, 8-years old attended on-site Forensics camp. Although she knew no other camper, she entered the first day to smiles and warm welcome. She was beaming at 4:30 pick-up, and so very enthusiastic about her new camp friends and the fascinating activities such as identifying finger-prints and recognizing DNA.
We will definitely enroll in future camps. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for your message. It depends on which program you are inquiring about. Our Young Explorers classes (3-5 year olds) require parent participation during class. Parents sometimes stay for the first week of homeschool classes, and during Girl Scout workshops as well. Parents do not stay for after-school programs, Parents' Night Out or our camps. Hopefully, I covered the program you are interested in. If not, please let me know so I can clarify. Thanks for your interest, Tonya -
