INTRO TO SCUBA DIVING
Monday, November 20 - 3:00pm-5:00pm
Ages 8-18

Kids (ages 8+) try scuba diving for the first time with Dr. Tonya. In this 2-hour workshop, kids explore the science and technology that allow scuba divers to breathe underwater, learn the rules of scuba diving, use scuba equipment, and practice some basic scuba skills. We will play underwater games and learn underwater hand signals in the heated pool at SeaVentures/Diventures Aquatic Center.

Participants must complete and submit a Diver Medical (signed off by a doctor, if required) and pool waiver to be confirmed for the class. Once confirmed, kids just need to bring a bathing suit and towel, and we will provide the rest. The workshop is limited to eight participants, so register soon!

Required forms to be emailed to dive@discoversciencecenter.com to be confirmed in the workshop. Please bring original copies on day of workshop.
Diver Medical - please make sure to get a medical evaluation if necessary (see Diver Medical for details)

My 9 year old budding marine biologist had the best time and learned so much during Try Scuba! She can’t wait for the next adventure with Dr Tonya!

Hi Deborah, Thanks for your message. It depends on which program you are inquiring about. Our Young Explorers classes (3-5 year olds) require parent participation during class. Parents sometimes stay for the first week of homeschool classes, and during Girl Scout workshops as well. Parents do not stay for after-school programs, Parents' Night Out or our camps. Hopefully, I covered the program you are interested in. If not, please let me know so I can clarify. Thanks for your interest, Tonya -
