(GIRL SCOUT WORKSHOP: HOLIDAY STEAM)

This was our second Girl Scout event, and this one was very disappointing compared with the first one. They appeared to just make a bunch of Shrinky Dinks, and only one of the three had a hole in it so it could actually be a (tiny) ornament. I was hoping for something she could send to a grandparent, but this wasn’t worth it at all. Won’t be doing any more of the Girl Scout events there.

Hi Kathleen,
Thanks for your feedback on our Girl Scout Workshop. I am sorry you were dissatisfied, and did not leave with a holiday gift. The goal for the Holiday STEAM workshop is to teach the science involved in crafting. This is why, for example, we discuss how stain differs from paint as it relates to wood anatomy, how 3D printers work, and what polymers are and how they are used in everyday items. My apologies for giving you the impression that this was an art class. Thanks for trying us out.

Hi Deborah, Thanks for your message. It depends on which program you are inquiring about. Our Young Explorers classes (3-5 year olds) require parent participation during class. Parents sometimes stay for the first week of homeschool classes, and during Girl Scout workshops as well. Parents do not stay for after-school programs, Parents' Night Out or our camps. Hopefully, I covered the program you are interested in. If not, please let me know so I can clarify. Thanks for your interest, Tonya -
