Robot Island Marine Science

Ahoy! Welcome to Robot Island! 

Build and customize your own motorized Bot and use cool science to create fun robotic stunts. Explore electric circuits, gears and simple machines while determining your robots’ form & function.  Construct digital traffic lights, gravity powered mazes and  a powerful catapult.  Craving adventure? Create a zipline across the island and watch your robot soar.  Dive into the world of marine science and meet a shark, examine a squid, and make a mollusk collection.  Design your own science vessel and test its buoyancy. Examine the tidepools and make your own coral reef!  Future marine biologists needed to save our oceans.

This camp explores:

Earth’s Magnetic Poles, Robotics, Parts of a Robot, Form and Function, Batteries and Circuits, Energy Sources, Gears, Reverse Polarity, Torque, Pulleys, Design Process, Biology, Anatomy, Buoyancy, Jet Propulsion, Ecosystems, Electricity, Magnetism, Catapults, Simple Machines.

Please note:  All campers must be signed in & out by a parent or guardian with their Destination Science teacher using a Sign Out Pass. Sign Out Passes must be presented to your child’s teacher at the end of the day for safe pick up. After you complete registration, you will be sent an email with details on how to log into your Destination Science account to get this pass.
