Overview

LOST IN SPACE FUN is a computer science class where students will learn amazing facts about space. In this course we may type with aliens or spaceships, learn about the order of the planets, play quizzes and challenges about space, play space math or design a space picture with computer art. Students learn how astronauts live in space at the International Space Station. During these challenges they learn navigation skills and terminology about their computer.  This is an IMPORTANT class your child NEEDS to SUCCEED with virtual learning and learn valuable skills to continually benefit from for years to come! Half-way through students stretch their muscles and participate in our famous "Virtual Dance Party".

If you do not see upcoming sessions, space is included in our S.T.E.A.M. hour programs sometimes. Look for the blue banner that say's S.T.E.A.M. Hour-Various Times. Or, if you prefer, click on the 1:1 Personal Tutoring banner to enroll for a private class. The dates/times are mock times on the 1:1 banner, but we will schedule an exact meeting time through email.

*Our Zoom Room operates on Eastern Time. So if you live in a DIFFERENT time zone, logon 1, 2 or 3 hours BEFORE the session noted.

Thank you Janis for taking time out of your day to submit this review. Mikey really did a great job learning computer skills and designing his character in this class. He is enthusiastic about learning computer skills and it brings him a smile to complete the typing tasks and other activities. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach him and I can't wait to teach him some more this year! Ms. P.

The teacher did some activities that were not for our grade (it was for a higher grade) but she made it easy to understand. She made the class fun by letting us learn by playing games in different websites instead of giving us work sheets.

Hi Afrosa. Thank you so much for taking time to review my program! Kiana did a great job and I tried to work with her and her learning level as I do with all of my students to help them feel confident and to help them understand the material I am giving them. She was super helpful at letting me know if something didn't work for her and I switched her activity. I never give worksheets in my program for I want the children to learn the radio buttons, slide bars and tools to navigate the programs. Afterall, they will work with a real computer in the workplace/higher school levels someday, not a tablet or phone and they need to know these tools, part of the benefit of my program. Thanks again! Ms. P.
Questions & Answers
Are the 4 sessions related? I.e. does each session build on top of the previous one? (Lost in Space-Coding, Typing, Design) -
asked on May 18, 2021

Hello! Each session date is unique in activities. It gets harder with experience. I will gauge your child in their typing and coding skills and make it easier or harder based on how well they know the material. -
Does my child need to have laptop, computer or can an ipad with keyboard work to attend your class?

Hello! A desktop or laptop computer, even a newer Chromebook works best. The IPAD we can try, however, some of the activities do not load because of the limited memory on them. Hope to see you soon! -
