Overview

CSMA’s early childhood music program features sequential classes that continually build on concepts, skills and techniques.  All classes include parent or caregiver participation, providing an enjoyable experience for both adult and child.

Little Musicians 1:  Explore musical contrasts, steady beat, rhythm and melody using fingerplays, action songs, basic instruments and movement. Each class is a mix of teacher-led activities and individual exploration.

Little Musicians 2: Introduction to a variety of tempos, meters and tonalities while the students develop a pre-instrument vocabulary. Children will be encouraged to demonstrate original ideas for singing and movement, while families work in groups and pairs.

Little Musicians 3: An interactive class where students learn through listening, singing, dancing and experimenting with basic instruments. Concepts like tempo, rhythm and melody are introduced, and children are encouraged to become independent participants.

Little Strings: In Little Strings: Suzuki Violin, young beginners and their parent/guardian are introduced to key concepts of the Suzuki Method through activities, games and songs. Students learn about rhythm, beat, musical terms, posture, and instrument care in a nurturing environment.

Little Singers: Singers will have fun exploring melody, rhythm, pitch and healthy vocal habits through songs, games and activities. Our youngest singers will develop their vocal skills and confidence in a warm and engaging environment.

Do Re Mi: Introduces musical concepts and fundamental skills as children enjoy activities including singing, ear training, elementary music notation, movement and rhythmic games to build their comprehension of and love for music.

Music & Movement: Baby & Me is a welcoming class for a parent/guardian and their baby (birth - 12 months). Focused on movement and bonding, the class provides a relaxing, inclusive space to connect with others. Enjoy songs, gentle dance, and playtime together!

Music & Movement: Family Class invites students ages 1-3 and two family members to explore music through singing, movement, and games. With songs, stories, and play, this multi-generational class supports musical expression and milestones in a fun, creative setting.

Little Actors: Spark imagination and build confidence in this playful 8-week drama class! Kids explore acting, movement, and storytelling through games, then prepare a fun mini-show. No experience needed—just creativity and enthusiasm!

My 10-year old son attended the Digital Art Camp. He learned Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash. I liked how this camp showed kids how to use industry-standard software, and they were able to learn a lot. My son now has a copy of these programs at home and he's exercising his creativity on the computer.
