About
Colorado Math and Computer Science Camp

Founded by Andrew Ying and Tyler Giallanza in 2016, the Colorado Math and Computer Science Camps began in order to teach different mathematical and computational science topics. These topics include, but are not limited to: Geometry, Number Theory, Counting, Probability, Algebra, and Algorithms as well as programming in Python, with some exposure to Java, LaTeX, and C++. CMCSC teaches students to explore ways to solve each problem through not only a mathematical approach but also a computer science-based approach. This year, CMCSC is proud to announce, by popular demand, a public speaking/debate seminar along side a seminar in artificial intelligence.

Our Staff

Andrew Ying was the coach of the Campus Middle School MATHCOUNTS Team. Andrew has been the 1st Place Highest Scorer in Colorado on the AMC 10 (2014) and AMC 12 (2016) and a qualifier to the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). He exhausted the Computer Science curriculum at Cherry Creek High School after his sophomore year. He now attends Stanford University.

Tyler Giallanza is an experienced policy speech and debater. In his senior year of high school, he placed 14th in the nation out of thousands of teams in policy debate, in addition to winning over a dozen local/regional tournaments during his four-year debate tenure. Outside of debate, Tyler has spoken in front of the Colorado State Senate, advocating for cybersecurity laws, in front of the Cherry Creek High School PTCO, advocating for computer science funding, and in front of the Cherry Creek School District Chief Information Officer, pitching software he created for the school district.

Tyler is currently attending Southern Methodist University on a full-ride scholarship. He is majoring in computer science and public policy, bridging his passion for policy/public speaking with his passion for engineering/computer science.
