Chrysalis Girls Adventures
Chrysalis Girls Adventures offers camping, hiking, and backpacking expeditions for girls entering 4th-8th grades, and a Mother-Daughter Camping+Kayaking Weekend for ages 5 and up. We embrace the outdoor environment as a medium for empowering girls to build healthy relationships with one another, recognize and celebrate their strengths, and connect with the natural world. Students learn to live and travel in the outdoors, hiking up to 3 miles/day with everything we need on our backs. Rest days focus on community-building, leadership development, diversity and allyship, self-awareness, positive body image, healthy living, and enjoying the breathtaking beaches & forests in Point Reyes National Seashore and Marin County. Throughout all of our programs, we celebrate our unique identities as bold & brave girls in the beautiful outdoors!

Our Staff

All Chrysalis Girls Adventures instructors have Wilderness Medical Certifications, either Wilderness First Responder (80 hours) or Wilderness First Aid (24 hours). All staff are carefully selected, interviewed, background-checked, and professional outdoor educators.

(Trails to Sea Backpacking Overnight Camp)

Trails to Sea was a great experience for Alethia. She came home with a zest for camping and backpacking and as a result the whole family has gone on our first family camping trip. Susie was a great leader, I felt confident that my daughter was in safe hands, both physically and emotionally. Thank you for providing a wonderful first summer camp away from home.

Amazing journey! Victoria's excitement at her return confirms why the pilot program was highly recommended by GirlVentures. She was safe, welcome, and included during the whole program. My daughter was allowed to enjoy herself, get some fresh air, and exercise while she learned to appreciate food and her family.

My daughter came back glowing after the trip, excited to share about her experiences with the other girls, stories of the trip itself, and new discoveries about her own abilities. Susie’s positivity and playfulness made even the more challenging aspects of backpacking into an adventure, and was adept at helping weave connections between the girls to create a safe, supportive atmosphere right away.
