About
Camp Wa Wa Segowea

At Wa Wa Segowea campers become who they were meant to be. They develop the ability to be genuine, relax, have fun, and really connect with others. They develop self-confidence and self-respect as they make new friends, meet challenges, and learn to cooperate. They assume daily responsibilities, from making beds and setting tables, to choosing and planning activities. The rhythm of camp balances group activities with individual pursuits and education with recreation. There is time to learn, play, and just be. And there is always time to talk about what matters.

Our Staff

An experienced pediatric nurse oversees all campers medical needs.  Staff are trained in CPR, First Aide, bully prevention, and development needs of different campers.  All cabins maintain a ratio of at least 1 head counselor to 8 campers, and have an additional junior counselor, or second head counselor, to assist with daily needs.

My husband and I are both alumni and our two boys both attend each summer. My older son is doing teen camp this year for the first time and I'm so excited for the adventure that awaits him! This camp is small but its heart is big. I love sending my kids there and knowing that they get to grow in such a beautiful, safe and unplugged environment! The counselors are well trained and many come back year after year. My kids don't have food allergies but I know the kitchen works to accommodate special diets. The camp is rustic and very open air. Classic camp activities (capture the flag!), skill classes (Yay Boating!) and some more unique activities make this a well-rounded summer camp, not focusing on one particular skill but rather helping kids grow and mature in a more holistic way. I think the best part about camp Wa Wa is how the culture of acceptance allows kids (and adults!) to become more authentic versions of themselves. The gorgeous setting doesn't hurt though!
