Innovation at Every Age

While no two weeks at Camp Galileo are exactly alike, each one includes the same engaging elements like games, theme days, water day, songs and other camp traditions.

In 6th–8th grades, campers spend most of their day focused on one incredible project, using advanced tools and techniques to transform their vision into reality. They collaborate with others to provide feedback and a helping hand.

Weekly camp sessions. 9am - 3pm camp day. Optional AM and PM extended care.

THREE WEEKS OF ALL-NEW PROJECTS

CUSTOM GO-KARTS: Get behind the wheel of your very own go-kart. Learn how to handle handsaws, drills, rasps and files. Work with hand and power tools to assemble your kart’s wheels, axles, steering column, hood and seat. Dream up an original design, crafting functional features like doors or foot brakes and adding personalized styling with acrylic paints. Debut your kart at an end-of-week show, then roll home in your one-of-a-kind ride. There is a $100 material fee added for this project.

ESCAPE ROOM EXPERIENCE: Break out of a Galileo-designed escape room, then use what you learn to design your own. Investigate a range of puzzle types and flows. Experiment with padlocks, hydraulics, simple circuitry, magnets and more as you build out custom features. Create a captivating theme, along with clues and interactive objects for your players to find. Invite your fellow designers to puzzle their way out of your uniquely mysterious room.

Camp Galileo has age-groups designed to deliver and experience that perfectly balances challenge and fun at every level. Plus, check out our camps for rising PreK – 5th grade and COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) for rising 8th-10th graders.

Pros: My son enjoyed outdoor activities and loved the theme each day. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons: The length of time given for the each week project each day is only 30 minutes to 45 minutes. It would be nice if its extended for atleast 2 hours each day (example: Tropical Rainforest)

This was fine, my kid enjoyed it and the counselors seemed really spirited. I just don't know how good of a value this is given it is more expensive than some of the other camps and I'm not clear that there was a lot more activities.

Camp Galileo was both of my kids' favorite camp last summer. They loved the staff and brought home amazing projects, including a water blaster that my daughter designed, built, and used all summer.
