Hi, First, I'm so sorry for our delayed response. We’re unfortunately operating with a skeleton staff and your question got lost in the shuffle. I’m so sorry! To address your question, the Intro to Spanish small group class will be taught again next Tuesday afternoon. Sounds like that time doesn’t work for you. Here’s the good news: we have many amazing Spanish teachers in our Edmo Coach 1:1 program. Most are fluent and all can teach from Intro to Advanced to Conversational Spanish. The woman who teaches the Introductory Class, Lucy, is one of our Coaches as well as Paula, Luis and Meghan just to name a few. All of our coaches are smart, kind, patient, educated and passionate. Simply go to “browse by subject” select Spanish and you’ll see a list of our coaches, their bios and their availability. Thank you for reaching out. Moving to the virtual environment has allowed us a lot more flexibility with capacity for programs. Right now we have a capacity of 60 campers per theme. If we have a waitlist on any programs, we will look to hire more staff and open up more sessions based on demand. Although up to 60 campers can sign up for each theme, our class sizes are limited to 15 campers for our elementary and middle school campers, so we will have multiple classes of the same theme running at one time. -

Although we are always working on incorporating more building tips and tricks, the focus of the Minecraft EDMOtopia curriculum is having our campers collaborate on environment design, learn about digital citizenship and SEL concepts while having fun with other Minecrafters. This activity can be considered "basic" in terms of the Minecrafters user experience, however our instructors are always available and willing to provide extended curriculum to ensure a great experience for campers of all skill levels. This program remains one of our most popular programs for even the most experienced Minecraft users who return time and time again for new weekly themed challenges! -

Hello! We do require Minecraft: Java Edition for this camp, which entails a one time fee of $27 to download the software. Pocket / mobile versions of Minecraft are not compatible with the camp, unfortunately. -

No coding or touch-typing experience is necessary, but we do recommend they have basic familiarity with using a computer, such as: moving a mouse, left click vs. right click, "drag and drop" with a mouse, switching between two windows (Scratch and Zoom), finding keys on a keyboard, and using Shift in combination with a key (to make a capital letter). -

They get to know the students and in each session they’ll interweave mindsets, SEL skills and character traits the make up The EDMO® Method. Coaching on academic subjects like math meet the students where they are and help students navigate challenges and/or mindsets that are getting in the way. Our coaching sessions are usually $80/session but during the pandemic we want to encourage more human to human connections —especially mentor mentee connections — so we’ve been offering half price coaching sessions ($40). We will be increasing the rate to $50/session on July 15th. If you purchase a 5 or 10 pack before then the price is $200 and $400 respectively. Hello! Thank you for your question. For our Minecrafters in PRIME (Gr.1-2) it is 8 children per camp, 10 for MAX (Gr. 3-4) and 15 for PRO (Gr. 5-6). -

Thanks for reaching out! Our 1:1 coaching is indeed a private 1:1 session, and you can purchase a single session, a 5-pack or a 10-pack. I would recommend purchasing a 5 or 10 pack, as it can be wise to secure the availability with your preferred coach and have a consistent tutoring schedule. Each session is an hour long and pricing varies depending on desired package. Luis Lupercio is a fantastic coach for Piano coaching! You can find more information about his background by going to the coaching portion of our website and search by coach. The frequency of 1:1 sessions is up to your discretion and preference in accordance with coach availability. An average would be 1-2x per week, allowing your child to practice skills between meetings with the coach. -

Depending on the grade level of your camper, Minecraft Edmotopia is great for both experienced and beginner minecrafters as they collaborate on building a virtual community together. For Prime campers (Gr. 1-2) without any prior experience, Minecraft Explorers Academy would be a better fit for easing into the Minecraft world through mini-games and activities for practice. -

Campers will practice Minecraft’s “crafting” system, which requires placing specific “ingredients” in a specific pattern to create a more advanced item. This will allow campers to practice menu navigation, left vs. right clicking and keyboard shortcuts. -

If you child is new to basic computer skills, Minecraft Explorers Academy would be a perfect choice! In Minecraft Explorers Academy, campers are eased into the world of Minecraft through a virtual "globetrotting" journey through a series of custom-built EDMO Minecraft game worlds. Each area will not only be themed after a different part of the world, but they'll also feature fun mini-games and activities that'll get campers practicing fundamental computer literacy skills like mouse movement, keyboard layout, menu navigation, and more. There is also the option of Minecraft EDMOtopia, which has an additional focus on teamwork and collaboration with other campers. I would recommend it more so for those who have a good understanding of basic computer literacy and perhaps even some experience with Minecraft. However, Minecraft EDMOtopia is considered an introductory course and can definitely be an option to consider for first-time Minecrafters as well. Good question! Campers are going to create powders and gels using specific ingredients. For example, they’ll be using agar agar and maltodextrin to create food gels and oil powders. If your student is entering 3rd grade this upcoming Fall, I recommend checking out our "Roblox World Builders" courses, where kids will learn how to use Roblox Studio to create their own Roblox game worlds. For campers entering 1st or 2nd grade, however, our Roblox offerings at that younger grade range do not involve using Roblox Studio, and instead focus on fundamental computer literacy like mouse manipulation, typing, menu navigation, etc. If your camper is entering 2nd grade this Fall and is interested in game creation, I recommend checking out our Scratch coding courses. -

If you happen to have a child who loves cooking we have something very exciting for our little chefs, the EDMO® Chef Series. It's a family cooking event with professional (and even famous) chefs on Wednesday nights. Our first one is this Wednesday June 3rd with Chef Michelle Minori, a finalist in Bravo’sTop Chef Season 16. She’ll be teaching kids and families how to make Fresh Orecchiette (“little ears” pasta) with a Zesty Pesto Sauce. I am so sorry that you were unable to get the link. We send out the link for every class 30 minutes to an hour before the program starts. We do this to make sure the information gets out to as many enrollees as possible. If you enroll in the program within an hour of the program starting, you have to reach out to us directly to get the Zoom link and log in information. We do not post our Zoom links publicly and change them for every class to ensure the safety and security of the campers in our programs. In an effort to provide our families with a safe alternative to traditional summer camp, we have launched EDMO Live! -- our 100% online enrichment programs with options for Half/Full Day camps, Drop-In sessions and 1:1 Coaching. Camps are hosted via Zoom conferencing. -

Great question! Prior experience or knowledge in Minecraft is not required or recommended in order to enroll in this camp. This is an introductory camp where campers will be introduced to the incredible world of Minecraft Redstone gadgets. In Minecraft, Redstone is a category of blocks, items and components that are similar to mechanical or electronic devices like lights, levers, pistons, sensors, and more. Campers will learn the fundamentals of designing and building all kinds of Redstone contraptions, from hidden doors and automated farms to vending machines and password-protected vaults. The focus of this camp will be a greater understanding of Minecraft Redstone mechanics and how to create them all while gaining computer engineering skills. -

EDMO Jr. (Prek–K): We keep our camper: staff ratio to 6:1…especially when activities involve tying knots, cutting, gluing, or glitter…definitely glitter.
