Our one-week Adventure summer camp centers on authentic local settings at which 2nd-7th graders create thrilling, fulfilling outdoor experiences. Whether they’re returning or first-time campers, every day is a different adventure — mastering mountain biking, hiking a trail, paddling a SUP or kayak — and every challenge is calibrated to their age and ability.
Grouped by grade, first-time and returning Adventure campers build on their skills and confidence year after year. 2nd – 4th graders concentrate on getting comfortable with new activities, with plenty of support and inspiration from our staff and returning campers. Once they reach 5th – 7th grade, campers shift their focus to teamwork and deepening their technical competence.
Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily. Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to recreation areas for the adventure sport at hand. At the end of the day, groups return to the meeting place for afternoon pick up.
Led by the best outdoor instructors around, campers develop the know-how and lasting self-assuredness that propel them toward a lifetime of exciting and nourishing outdoor adventure.
Mountain Biking: Whether they’re first-time bikers or regular riders, we get campers familiar with biking technique, safety and equipment (plus some bicycle maintenance basics) out on local trails. Campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from our fleet, which accommodates campers of any size.
Hiking: On stunning local trails in scenic, nearby sites campers get out into nature and back to basics. They learn about flora and fauna and Leave No Trace principles as they explore and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
Stand Up Paddleboarding: An increasingly popular sport, Stand Up Paddleboarding is a hit with campers of all ages. Campers will work on their balance on the water through a series of games and challenges. Our instructors will also teach proper strokes and rescue techniques.
Kayaking: Our flat-water kayaking instruction gives campers practice and confidence with paddling equipment and safety, getting them comfortable with the basics before taking on deeper skill building. Not to mention it’s lots of fun!
Here's How We Do It:
Screen-Free: These days, many kids grow up surrounded by screens. They’re disconnected from the natural world, and from the joy of authentic outdoor adventure. With Avid4 Adventure summer camps, our mission is to empower kids of all ages and skill levels to choose active, outdoor lifestyles.
