Athens Debate

Athens Debate is the most successful private speech and debate academy in the Bay Area. The Athens Debate program teaches students how to become confident public speakers, strategic debaters, and powerful communicators. The Athens Debate program caters toward middle school and elementary school students. Athens Debate is so successful that our middle school debaters routinely defeat high schoolers in prestigious debate competitions.

The Athens Approach:

Debate has the power to be transformative. With the right approach debate channels natural curiosity towards some of life’s most challenging subjects and vexing questions.

The Athens Debate program augments natural student curiosity with a curriculum and an educational pedagogy that prioritizes deep learning and content mastery. Students develop this intellectual toolkit from a meticulously crafted curriculum that places a premium on logic, writing, philosophy, rhetoric, and public policy.

Through Athens’ innovative curriculum students: learn to ask the right questions, engage in vibrant discussions, sharpen their technique, learn advanced research skills, become tight technical writers, and absorb advanced liberal arts content. In the end, through this no shortcuts approach, Athens students don’t just become good debaters, they become strong thinkers.
