Course Description: Students will utilize the writing process approach, progressing through the steps of prewriting; writing the first draft; revising and editing their final draft.

Students will be exposed to short reading material, which may serve as a model for their writing tasks.
By utilizing a variety of classroom activities and techniques, including the use of technology in the classroom, this course is dynamic, interactive, and accommodates the multiple learning styles of students.
Teaching strategies include monitored pair and group work; relevance of the material to students’ lives; and communicative activities and tasks.
By the end of this course: Students will have demonstrated written skills necessary to follow a step-by-step approach to paragraph and essay writing. Students will be able to research ideas, participate in peer and self-revision, and produce a final edit. Furthermore, students will be able to take notes effectively, use charts and diagrams for organizing ideas, cite sources, and create robust paragraphs.
Students will be able to write with an objective or persuasive tone of voice and to support their ideas through examples that align with concepts they seek to convey.
