Adventure Camp

Ask the kids what they like best about Adventure Camp; many will say the counselors. When it comes to choosing our staff, we are highly selective. While most of our staff is made up of former Adventure Campers, on rare occasions, we meet someone of exceptional talent and character who will come aboard. Each counselor must genuinely love being among children, possess a strong sense of responsibility, and have an honest and direct personal style. Those qualities, plus an endless supply of energy, an enthusiasm for life, and a great sense of humor, are what we look for when hiring an Adventure Camp counselor. Before each new season begins, our counselors participate in special training sessions. During this time, they learn what being an Adventure Camp counselor means. Sure, we review safety and logistics, but just as important, we discuss the critical need to treat each child with personal attention and respect. We also challenge our staff to find ways to make each day exciting and new for each of our campers and discuss various ways they can actively engage the kids to achieve that goal.
