Academy of Design

At Academy of Design, we teach creativity.   Students learn to design and illustrate fashion, sew and create wearable clothing and accessories in our bright, fun, fully equipped sewing studio. Designers learn sketching, hand sewing, and sewing on real sewing machines. 

At the Academy of Design, we believe kids are inherently creative and eager to explore new possibilities. Our mission is to enable young designers to brainstorm, generate multiple concepts, commit ideas to paper in a readable form, select materials, understand construction, and then sew a prototype.

Our method is total immersion in the creative process.  We are there to enable the designer within to make real their vision, and in the process of building a prototype, gain a new skill.  The Academy of Design is not a sewing school, but a design school!
