Kids 'N' Clay Pottery Studio

Kids N' Clay is a children's ceramic studio based in Berkeley, California, offering nationally recognized wet clay programs for kids ages 3 – 18.

Our mission is to help children express themselves so that they can find their own creative paths, in the studio and beyond.

We offer ongoing weekly classes, monthly day camps,  and summer camps.​

Kids 'N' Clay staff encourage children to embrace the uncertainty of a new experience and the vulnerability of what it means to be creative. We invite young people to make their own decisions, including mistakes, as part of their creative process and personal development. Once children learn to express and execute their personal visions in clay, they become empowered in ways that go far beyond the walls of the studio. ​

The kids had a blast. I signed my kids up for a school in service day when I had to work. My 3rd grade girl had been to a Kids in Clay birthday party and couldn't wait to go back. I worried my active 1st grade boy was going to get antsy spending an entire day on clay, but he also had fun - it sounds like they had enough variety and breaks to keep him on board. We can't wait to pick up their clay projects once they've been fired. Note: dress your kids for mess, they will come home happily covered in clay dust!

People have been recommending this studio to me for a while now, and I am so glad we finally went - This place is incredible! My daughter and a friend did a drop in session. Within minutes of arriving, they were both happily set up at pottery wheels, spinning their first creations. The staff was great and never seemed to be more than a couple of feet away. Always ready to provide an extra hand, useful tool or technique. I know we'll be going back... we'd be there every day if it were up to my kids!
