About
SewHo

SewHo is a program located in New York City, taught by Conchi Vitale - a fashion and accessories designer. Selling her designs to specialty boutiques nationwide, she is now bringing her talent to another level, by offering weekly sewing classes for children and teens.

Conchi Vitale discovered years ago that sewing classes were not tied into regular school curricula, therefore kids were being deprived of this important skill. So she chose to do something about it, Conchi Vitale now is a Licensed Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design Instructor. After finding success with the former, she branched out on her own, and thus,SewHo was created.

Sewing is not difficult, but it is not easy either. Learning to sew, however, is a fairly straightforward process. Her goal is to close the gap between what you know about sewing (if you’re a beginner), and what you want to sew (such as the cool clothes and accessories you really desire) - one stitch at a time.

I would highly recommend taking classes at Sewing in SoHo for anyone interested in learning how to sew at any level. I have taken basic courses at FIT and Parsons and didn't learn in one semester what I have learned at Sewing in SoHo in a month. It helps that the instructor, Conchi, is very patient and a brilliant and talented designer herself and also that the classes are small, hence, the attention is more dedicated. I definitely plan on graduating to the next level once I'm done with the current curriculum. I recommend it highly, while you're there, you can also pick up some of Conchi's one of a kind pieces, either clothing items OR accessories!
