The Game Academy

The Game Academy is so much fun! The Game Masters are awesome and have the best stories. They are patient and kind and always encourage players making the day fun and interesting. Small groups are the best and we get to know one another well. The snacks are breaks are great too.

Anthony at The Game Academy is fantastic. Our family started an online adventure during covid that is still going four years later. It's been amazing to follow the story through caves and over rivers and mazes of rooms, exploring and challenging one another to new levels of excitement. Anthony's story telling is engaging and creative and super funny. We laugh, we joke, we tease one another and stay connected even though family members are states away at times. The Game Academy has really brought us together in a unique and fun way.

As a scholar interested in the effects roleplaying games have on the social/emotional development of young people, I can confirm from my research that few organizations are as successful at building these skills as The Game Academy is. Parents and students report that their lives were transformed by the gamemasters and their skillful development of programs and adventuring teams. It isn't every day one encounters an organization that creates programs this fun and this important.

The Game Academy has brought our widespread family together. We all live in different cities and look forward to our weekly family fun time. Anthony leads our adventures and we enjoy surprising him with our choices, so the story travels alongs twists and turns. No session is the same! We are so grateful for the TGA and the fun and creativity it brings to all our lives!

My son absolutely loved the camp. He enjoyed the creativity that the counselors sponsored. We will definately be back again.

Game Academy is my son's favorite camp of all time. He would rather go to this camp than on vacation! We travel from SF to attend the sessions both in Berkeley and San Rafael. He also attends the after school class in San Francisco and looks forward to it every week.

Our son has been attending The Game Academy since he was very young, and it is by far his favorite activity, and the only one he absolutely refuses to miss. Joshua and his team have integrated play and learning completely seamlessly, and the kids have fun while also learning cooperation, reasoning and leadership. Way to go, Game Academy!

My son has a hard time focusing and is generally very picky about his camps. He loved this camp. It kept his interest even though he had to sit and play a role playing game for more than half the day. He loved the afternoon physical activities and the craft projects. The staff were organized, attentive and enjoyed interacting with the kids. I will definitely consider sending him again and he would definitely go again.

I drive two hours a day for my 15-year-old son to attend this camp because of the look his has on his face when he is with the Game Academy camp community. These are his people. He has a blast, learns a lot and uses his brain. This is absolutely the best day camp my son has ever attended. The people who run the camp are wonderful and supportive and really know their stuff. My son would attend all summer if he could! It's great for a wide range of ages and the kids all connect no matter what age they are.

The Game Academy has been a fantastic fit for our 10 year old. He's been attending for a year and always comes home from class inspired. Who knew role playing games would lead to hours of independent writing and reading? I'm also seeing improved skills in organizing ideas and social interactions with peers. I recommend the Game Academy for any child with an interest in gaming and storytelling.

The Game Academy has been an amazing experience for my son! Both Josh and Mitch have provided a great environment for the "gamers" to not only have fun but to learn social skills and other greater world experiences. My son absolutely loves going and is always asking for more!

These folks provide a wonderful experience for young gamers to come together and not only have fun, but learn important social and academic skills along the way. From their weekly after school programs to the Summertime Adventure Game Camps, they go above and beyond to ensure the kids have fun. learn and socialize.

My son started somewhat reluctantly at Game Academy many months ago. He does not leaving the house and has little patience for waiting for his turn or not having control of a game session.
