About
Peninsula Community Center Swim School Program

The Peninsula Community Center’s Swim School Program is for children of all swimming levels, ages 3-12. Our Swim School Program offers uniquely small class sizes with a 2:1 student to instructor ratio in every class. Our lessons are designed to help children learn water safety skills and proper swimming technique in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. Our Swim School program is offered in the Spring and Summer, with private lessons being offered year-round.

We derive our curriculum from the theories of swim school pros, such as American Red Cross, Swim America, and Total Immersion, but further enhance it with our own activities, nurturing instructors, and the foundational belief that children will learn more when swimming is FUN!

We help children grow in the following ways:

  • Having confidence while in and around water.
  • Learning and continuing to advance water safety skills and proper swimming technique.
  • Building friendships with other swimmers and devoted, nurturing instructors.
  • Enjoying a fun, safe, and pressure-free learning environment.
  • Feeling accomplished through consistent and positive encouragement.

Best swim lessons in RWC. Our son took three weeks / one June July August. Easy breezy, refining side breathing and back stroke, learning Breast stroke. Graduated from crocodile to otter. Highly recommend !

Totally recommend! My daughter has never liked swim lessons before. But this was a really great setup. Just two kids, really positive instructors. So the kids get a lot of turns, and a lot of encouragement. They have a very structured set of skills they are teaching at each level. I was able to choose the right level for my kid. Over the course of a week, she went four times, which is a nice set up to build upon the last lesson. The teachers make it fun, and my daughter is really proud of the ribbon she earned! We stayed afterwards each day and played at the pool. The people there were friendly, it was not too crowded on a late-summer weekday, and the locker rooms were very clean. Bring cash so you can buy a snack. Or pack your own. It's permitted to eat by the pool.
