Dikshaa Dance Academy

Dikshaa Dance Academy teaches traditional Bharatnatyam, in a fun and engaging manner. We teach Bharatnatyam along with principles of acting and movement, incorporating theater techniques from Indian as well as western theater world. 
When we are not teaching we are working on some unique and spectacular productions, showcasing our school talent, while pushing the boundaries with challenging  choreographies and innovative ideas.

Dikshaa produces unique dance productions, that are innovative and engaging.   Productions such as "LA BAYADÈRE - A BALLET IN BHARATNATYAM ", "Mystics of the Valley", and most recently  "veerangana - valiant women".
Our latest production  , showcased brave women warriors from different cultures. This is a collaborative work with artistes from other countries and various styles of dance. 

This production was a fundraiser for Cry America. Through dance, we are building communities, and engaging young minds to look beyond themselves.

Honors & Awards

We have been awarded in Vibha Dance Competition and India Waves Dance Muquabla. We have also performed at International Dance Festival Silicon Valley, conducted by Lively foundation.

Highly recommend! Shilpa is one of the best teacher I have seen in Bay area. It's great to be part of Diksha academy. The way how Shilpa teacher focus on individual student is excellent! Especially the recent Valiant Women her choreography and the way it's planned and focused on each batch is amazing. She is so patient enough to correct and make sure her students are getting it right. She is so passionate about what she is doing. Blessed to be part of Diksha!

Shilpa is a Diligent teacher and keeps her students interested in the art of dance. My 6 year old has always been excited to go for her Sunday morn classes, which tells me lots.

Our daughter had been going to Diksha academy for the last two years and we are very happy with the results. The teacher is very kind and encouraging to the students and makes the learning a fun activity. My daughter has become very invested and never tried to skip a class. The teacher is also is very organized in her approach to learning the stages and never focuses on the fees due to her but more dedicated towards the art. I recommended her school for anyone considering initiating their children into Bhratanatyam.
