Stomping Ground

Stomping Ground is an overnight camp in Deposit, New York, that focuses on creating intentionally diverse and inclusive communities, building empathy, and inspiring gigantic possibilities. By employing cutting edge child development theory and a world class staff, we offer an intentionally designed summer camp experience that will not only quiet the voices telling your children that they need to be someone other than who they are – it will let them explode with creativity, kindness, and the knowledge that anything is possible. We start from the idea that kids aren’t so different from grown ups, and that more is possible if we treat others the way they want to be treated. We believe that every member of our community has a right to feel safe, physically and emotionally. And that people are happiest living in a free and trusting community. Someday every child wakes up and no one tells them what to do. We believe that kids learn best through making decisions not by following directions.
