Camp Fashionista

Camp Fashionista is a unique fashion design school for children and adults founded by Dori Gladden in 2010, offering beginning sewing and fashion illustration classes in San Jose. Our classes, camps and fashion birthday parties provide an introduction to all aspects of fashion design, allowing budding designers to take their first steps in to the exciting world of fashion design.

I absolutely love sharing my passion with the next generation of fashion designers. Whether it's learning to sew for the first time, understanding how to use patterns to make your own clothes, or doing beautiful fashion illustrations.

Dori Gladden is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, teacher, and mother, who has traveled the world designing for over 35 years. Originally from Los Angeles, Dori now calls the Bay Area home and has worn many hats in the fashion industry, from corporate environments to running her own label. Dori has studied fashion design and pattern-making at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and ESMOD (Paris, France), laying the foundation for a successful career. Her launch of "Camp Fashionista," a design school located in San Jose, CA, for both children and adults, allows her to share her passion and inspire the next generation of designers.

Fantastic fun for my 9yo daughter. Creating her own fashion ideas and sketching them out. Also an opportunity to pin it together on one of the material mini torsos. Tons of material pieces to choose from. Great creative environments

Highly recommend Camp Fashionista!!! My 11 year old daughter just finished her 4 day Accessories camp with Dori and loved it. Dori is an excellent instructor who is easy to learn from and has fabulous ideas to share with her students. This is my daughter's second round of classes after taking the 1A class (machine sewing) over two years ago.

Look forward to having my daughter take more classes in the future.

Camp Fashionista offers children a great opportunity to learn to sew in an easy, non-judgemental environment. My granddaughter is so proud of her dresses, purses and pillow case she has made there. Last December, at age 10, she made all her Christmas presents.

We just discovered your school and sadly couldn’t find any beginner hand sewing classes for my two daughters (9 & 11yrs old). This online class seems to be at a good level for them.
