About
San Francisco Math Circle

At the San Francisco Math Circle, we make math accessible, inclusive, and fun! The SF Math Circle is an extracurricular math enrichment program that encourages students to develop their identities as mathematical thinkers in a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment.

We promote positive attitudes towards math and learning through engaging, hands-on puzzles and games that involve both creativity and critical thinking.

You can find more about our approach to math and math education at https://www.sfmathcircle.org/approach, and you can see a sample of our activities at https://www.sfmathcircle.org/activities

We are committed to making our programs accessible to all students. We provide financial aid in the form of reduced tuition to families based on financial need, so they only pay what they can afford. You can find out more about our financial aid at https://www.sfmathcircle.org/financial-aid

All SF Math Circle instructors undergo fingerprinted-based background checks. Additionally, we require current negative TB tests to be on file.

Our kids have participated in the Math Circle summer program for a couple of years. They groaned a bit when we signed them up the first time (math camp? Really, mom?!) But they enjoyed it so much they were eager to attend again. The program was fun and they were excited to learn and show off tricks and puzzles in the last day’s showcase. I highly recommend the program as a way to reinforce and expand math and logic concepts - and have fun.

Can kindergarteners - 1st graders attend? (Math Camp at SF State) -
asked on Jan 21, 2024
My 8-year-old has attended one math festival and 7 sessions (so far) of Math Circle at SF State for grades 2-3, which he loves. My question is: if I enroll him in an additional session for the spring, will the activities be repeats, or will he have something new to try every time? Thanks.
