Spartans Sports Camp

My son is very happy to be there , him love it . Sincerely all the teachers are very good and kindly.

Great camp - lots of fun activities. Our 10yr old.son didn't want to go at first, but had lots of fun every time and even made friends - we'll surely consider for the next camp again!

Wacky Science was fun and educational. My daughter enjoyed the teacher and counselors. It was full of great activities and well-organized.

The camp was good. The swimming part was the best! The kid was happy and exhausted every day.
The counselors I communicated with were professional and on point.

My 6yo had a great time at this camp and enjoyed the variety of activities. we purchased hot food which he sometimes likes and sometimes didn't. But he's also picky. I like that we also get photos afterwards of the kids.

Wide variety of sports available so that every can find something to do.

My daughter loved all Spartan’s camps last year. We did the basketball and the multi sport camps. She came excited each day from camp and loved her counselors. Her camp counselor even sent her a hand written postcard and a camper of the week certificate which was such a thoughtful gesture. She is excited to return this year as well. My son was a junior counselor last year and shared with us the enthusiasm, energy and love of sports that all counselors naturally possess at this camp.

My kids loved their time at Spartans Sports Camp. It was one of the few camps that kept them excited to go every morning.

On the second day, staffs already remembered the names of my children and called them(Awesome!!). During the week they were very kind and friendly, and my children were very sad that class was over. It was the first summer camp I registered for my kids, and it left us with very good memories!

My son was very excited about this camp and wants to return.

My sons enjoyed the camp. They were able to play actual games after a few days of drills.

My son loved every minute of it. He said the coaches were really good and it was challenging to him. He has been playing flag for 9 years, been on a few championship teams and thinks this was the best coaching he has seen. He learned a lot.

Liam loved it!!! He was shy at the beginning but they gave him the confidence to play all games. It was great.

My daughter Akanesi enjoyed this camp very much. Every Saturdays that's what she looks forward to is going to the basketball camp. Moving forward, I would definitely signed her up again for this camp and I recommend this camp to anyone who enjoys sports.

This is a very kid friendly camp and and my son has learnt a lot about the game over a period of time. He has also makes friends in that camp & looks forward to going there again.

My son has participate in the Spartan basketball program for the past 3 years. Doug Wiersig and his great team of coaches provide a fantastic program. The focus on fundamentals and technique is very helpful for my son who needs to develop core skills in order to enjoy the game and play at the same level as his peers and qualify for the local leagues. Doug is very thoughtful and aware of the individual needs of each player. He even notices when parents bring expired epi-pens to camp. I feel very lucky to have Doug and his team in our community. You will not find a better program.

We like that attending Spartans Sports Camp benefits our future high school, MVHS. The staff is a little more friendly than other camps, and they produce the best and most frequent parent communication emails - daily during camp. My son enjoys the swimming and other sports in the multi-sport camp. This was our second year. The camp makes an effort to entertain the kids during extended care with board games, air hockey, ping pong, and a basketball hoop game.

This was the 4th year my son participated in Spartans Sports Camp's Multi-sports Camp because he enjoys the variety of sports played. Each year he returns he likes the warm welcome back he gets from camp coaches/counselors that recognize him from previous years. As a parent I love that he gets that attention because it eases his anxiety of starting with a new group of campers. I love that after each week my son has participated in, he gets a personalized postcard in the mail from the camp counselor stressing all the positives he/she recognized of my son. Thank you all for another great week of camp. A special thank you to Chris whose caring, positive ways makes my son Matteo want to return each year.

My niece had a great time at Spartans Sports Camps. She was begging to go everyday (including the weekends).

Our 13 year old loved this camp...it was basketball all day! He has been to many “basketball” camps that do a couple hours of that and then babysitting/ movies/other activities the rest of the day. We will be back next year!

Caring staff, versatile activities and a lot of fun. Great communication from the time of registration to the conclusion of the camp week (pre-camp information, daily email communications about how the day went and plans for the next day, sharing pictures). Measures were taken to keep children safe during hot days. Before and after care options and location made it a great and convenient choice for working parents.

My kids had a blast at Spartan over spring break. They did the multi sport camp and were excited to try new sports like lacrosse.

Our son had a great time at both the basketball and multi-sport camp!!

My son enjoys the variety of sports and skills he’s exposed to, the team of councilors is high energy and great with the kids, and the use of the HS facility allows for a great environment for learning new sports and practicing skills.

I would really recommend it because it is a fun time for kids to practice sports and enjoy having fun with the coaches and different teammates.

I had hoped in the Track and Field camp kids will do systematic physical exercises. But unfortunately it is run like a daycare. There was not much organized instructions or structured programs. Kids feel free not to run or jump or any other activities. Many kids opted to play games on their phones for large part of the day.

My kid love the free basketballs and activities. Each day they cam home happy.

My son enjoyed the basketball camp very much. Coaches were friendly and played games with kids after camp. I had a hard time to find a full day camp during Spring break. So happy that I found the full day camp with lunch option and extended care at Spartans Sports. It saved me! My son loved the camp gifts as well including a basketball and a cap with nice design. Thanks for the great camp.

My son has attended the multi-sport camp week for the past two years and loved it! He's asked to go back again this summer. In particular, he liked the ability to try multiple sports, including ones that were less familiar to him. Choices such as swimming or arcade time gave him a sense of ownership and let him try new things. He raved about his counselors who were positive, enthusiastic, and engaging. As a parent, I appreciated him having great role models in the students and adults who served as his counselors and managed the camp. All in all, Spartans Sports Camp was a fantastic experience and a great value for our family. We'll definitely be choosing it again and again.

As a parent, I would say that if you are looking for a place for your child to make friends, try new things and be active while having a good time, Look no farther than Spartans Camp at MV High School. The staff is kind and attentive with plenty of experience. Doug Wiersig has been running the camp for years now and have plenty of experience ensuring that the camp is a fun and safe place for kids to both learn new skills and enjoy themselves. My kid love the camp -- he is always enjoying the company of his friends, neighbors or classmates as this is a community and neighborhood camp This is a great place to put your kids right after the schools ends.

I am an employee in the district and my son wanted to attend the Sports camp. I cannot speak more highly of this camp. My son has attended for three years and RAVEs about it constantly. He enjoyed the thoughtfulness of the staff, new friends he made, and the added touch of receiving Spartan gear every week. Camp is phenomenal and I highly recommend it.

I was placed in charge of my niece last summer (my brother had to go to Europe for a few months for work). Thankfully, I found this great summer camp!

I enrolled my niece in the multi-sport camp, and she loved every day of it! The extended care was really convenient, and they also provided lunch.

I have four children and they have all gone through the Spartans Sports Camp -- I can't say enough great things about it! Their multi-sport camps over the summer are fantastic and the Holiday sports camps are a great way for your kids to have fun, stay in shape and learn some things over the break. The counselors are very knowledgeable, have terrific attitudes and are also great with the kids. I highly recommend the Spartans Sports Camp for kids of all ages -- all of the proceeds go to MVHS Athletic Department, which is a real win-win for the community. I would give it 6 stars if I could!
