Peekadoodle

There are simply not enough words to describe just how much Peekadoodle has meant to our family. My older son was transitioning to school after my being a stay-at-home parent. He was very anxious and slow to warm to new people and environments. Peekadoodle was perfect because they had the play club where we could just go and play so he could get used to the space. Then, they offered parent-child classes. We took them all and he loved them. Then, as he became increasingly comfortable, he attended a few classes on his own. Then, he attended Prep, which was perfect. It was just a couple mornings a week and the teachers were so loving and supportive. By the time he started Academy, he was a pro - totally comfortable with the environment, the staff, and the teachers. Every single teacher and staff member was warm, welcoming, and enormously patient. They were instrumental in our identifying his anxiety and sensory issues early on so that we were able to get him the support he needed as early as possible. He's now almost nine and waxes nostalgic about his many years at Peekadoodle.
When my second son was born, there was no doubt where he would attend. While, his personality is totally different than his big brother, Peekadoodle is just as amazing. He is very outgoing, confident, and independent. From day one, he barely said goodbye because he was already running for the door. Unfortunately for the world, Covid emerged during his second year. Peekadoodle turned on a dime. They made distance learning as fun as possible for a preschooler. I will never forget Ms. Linda's hysterical videos for music class. I laughed so hard I cried and still watch them occasionally when I need a pick me up. When it was safe to return to school, Peekadoodle was ahead of the curve. The protocols and safety measures they put in place allowed the parents to feel confident that our children would be safe and still receive the fun, hands-on, creative, joyous education they've always provided. My son adjusted beautifully and rolled right along, with a mask and the kind of hand-washing skills that will serve him forever.
As a mom, Peekadoodle has been a home away from home where I could bring my newborn and comfortably breast-feed him, an office where I could get some work done, a spot to grab the best tuna-salad sandwiches ever, and a place to chat and talk with staff, teachers and other parents. Peekadoodle has been endlessly supportive through a divorce, my choice to have a second baby alone, and may other ups and downs. They are family and always will be.

The staff, the programs and the attention to detail can't be beat.

We have been part of the Peekadoodle family for some time but I had to write a review to tell everyone how incredible our experience with the schools have been here. Our daughter started with Prep and moved into Academy. Over this short time period, she has learned SO MUCH. Everyday she surprises us with new songs (days of the week, months, numbers), new letters (she writes her name now!), and new stories with her "friends." I have been SO impressed with the teachers, the quality of the curriculum, and the students/parents/families. i have to admit, we LOVE it.

Lunch is provided which is an awesome feature. In addition, the teacher to student ratios are super low, making class super intimate for our daughter.

I just know how stressful and scary the preschool process here is in SF. I wasn't sure about keeping our daughter at Peek but I am SO SO glad we did. If you are considering it for a schooling choice, rest assured you are making a good decision. We have been incredibly happy with the program all around.

Peekadoodle has been one of the most amazing experiences we've had as a family since our daughters were born. We started coming when our oldest was just a baby. She would come for play and for music class. We started to build a community of friends and became close to the owners and staff as well. Everyone who works here is wonderful and really invested in the families who are there.

Eventually, we started our oldest daughter in the Prep Program when she was 22 months old. She thrived in the program, and had great teachers! Our youngest followed in her sisters footsteps and started Prep when she was around the same age. She also had an amazing experience!

Peekadoodle is a place for families and friends to come together for play, learning and most importantly for fun! I've made so many friends and it feels like a home away from home!
