GirlVentures
Our mission is to inspire girls and gender expansive youth to lead through outdoor adventure, inner discovery, and collective action.
GirlVentures combines outdoor adventure with social emotional learning for adolescent girls (with *girls* referring to gender expansive youth, cis girls, trans girls, trans boys, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth and any girl-identified youth)
Starting at age 11, our youth build confidence, leadership, and life skills as they backpack, hike, kayak and rock climb. They learn from experiential educators and mentors while gaining knowledge and tools that empower them to reach their full potential.
We make our programs as widely accessible as possible and actively promote inclusion, diversity, and cultural humility. To ensure that girls* from all communities can access our programs, GirlVentures utilizes a sliding scale fee structure, which will include all gear, food, and transportation.

GirlVentures is an amazing experience for young girls. Project Courage offered my step-daughter the opportunity to be independent, forge new friendships, connect with nature, discover herself and break from technology. She left for her adventure a bit nervous and very excited, and she came home confident, motivated and strong. I see the effect it has had on her in little ways ever day. Two feet out the door of leaving the Welcome Home gathering she asked if she could go again next year. Yes, absolutely!! I cannot recommend this program and organization enough to parents with daughters. It is an experience they will never forget and lessons and skills they will apply for a lifetime. Thank you, GirlVentures!
