Overview

What supplies would you bring with you on a trip to Mars, our most habitable neighboring planet? In this camp, young explorers will “blast off” into cutting-edge science and plan for the first human trip to “the Red Planet.” Together, we will investigate the prospect of sustaining life on the Martian surface, separating science from science fiction. During this program, your camper will design and test systems for providing water, oxygen, and warmth. They will build a model remote-controlled rover to collect samples from the planet’s surface. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of Mars, learn how to identify potentially habitable planets, and explore the engineering design process.
