Overview

Want to learn what it takes to be a leader at camp, and beyond into your every day life? Enroll in the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program to find out! Under the tutelage of a dedicated staff member, you’ll learn more about yourself and strengthen your leadership skills in areas including group dynamics, decision making and conflict resolution. CITs will take these skills and apply them in a camp setting, with a strong emphasis on the “learning-by-doing” philosophy. CITs will get to shadow a variety of staff roles, work with campers of all ages, and explore what areas of camp interest them most. Over the weekend, CITs will participate in an overnight camp-out off-site. By the end of the two weeks, CITs will work with their staff mentor to create and independently run their own hour-long program. In addition to registration, CITs must complete an application and interview to prepare for the program.

CIT is designed to be a leadership training program first and foremost, so while prior camp experience is a great plus, it is not a requirement. If you’re new to CLN but looking for leadership training, please enroll too! The skills you learn in this program will be extremely transferrable into your day-to-day life and future career or education.
