San Francisco Maritime

My son LOVES sailing camp. He did it last summer as well. I love that there is staff continuity - a great team! They knew him from last summer and were so welcoming and kind. Very accommodating when we had to make a late schedule switch. My son wants to continue with this program until he becomes a "counselor in training" when he is older. So thankful for this fun, skill-building, adventurous way to spend time on the Bay.

Best camp yet! Second year in a row and looking forward to next year already, too. I never thought I'd see the day when my 10 year old would forgo trains for another hobby...until last year's Maritime camp. It's been nothing but boats, boats, boats of all kinds since then. A wonderful team of counselors and staff, and an overall amazing experience for the kids.

My son had a great time being out on the bay. The activity changed slightly each day which he liked and the staff were friendly and engaging. We will do this camp again, for sure.

My daughter absolutely loved this camp. It was such an adventure - she made friends, learned to tie knots, and the best part was getting in the water! Everyday after camp she was super excited to share rowing and sailing techniques she learned with the family. The before and aftercare options made this doable for us since we live across the city and work is even farther. Must do again next summer!!!

My son absolutely loved this camp. He loved the counselors and the friends he made. He also really enjoyed learning to sail and tie knots. He is really bummed that he can't do another session this summer.

My son loved this camp. He learned a bit of sailing, rowed boats on the bay, went to the aquarium and on a submarine. Reminded me of why living in SF can be awesome! So grateful we discovered this camp when he was 8 as he says he wants to go every summer.

My son loved this camp! After one week attending with a friend, he returned for two more weeks. He came home sharing maritime history and singing sea shanties.

My 12-year old son attended SF Maritime Camp (again) this year and once again, he had a wonderful experience. The counselors are excellent, and the activities are engaging and creative. The end of week sail above The Alma around SF Bay was a huge treat for all of us. I highly recommend this camp, and am excited my younger son will be old enough to attend next year, too.

My son is about to complete his second week at Maritime Camp this summer, and he's so sad it's almost over. He's been there the last couple of years, and it's been a highlight of his summer. He comes home every day with tales of his adventures -- sailing, building and racing boats from recycled material, taking in the awesome Balclutha, etc. He comes home exhausted yet exhilarated every afternoon. The counselors have boundless energy and creatively weave education (spotting and cataloging marine life) with fun (water wars!). This camp is a treasure.

My son said it was the best camp he’s ever been to! It had everything he thought he’d be afraid of (rowing, water, almost tipping over), but just enough and not too much. He also really liked the staff especially the head. He will definitely be back next year!

Absolutely fantastic. My kids had the greatest time sailing and rowing every day. Staff members were supportive and enthusiastic. This was one of the best camps my kids have ever done, according to them!

Highly recommend this camp! Both my kids (7, 11) spent a week in this camp and had a blast. The team was great and every day they had different fun activities. We really liked the fact that the kids spent most of the time on the water.

Great summer camp! Instructors were very friendly and prepared. My daughter had a great time, planing to enroll her again next year.

Great camp. My son really enjoyed being out in nature and learning about the bay, boats, etc.

Marcielo loved sailing in the bay and going to the beach. He had fun looking for crabs and loved the staff because they were super fun, nice, and cool!

My son absolutely loved this camp. He is already asking me to sign him up for next year. The counselors are great. The kids get to do all kinds of fun activities like sailing and hunting for crabs (which they throw back in the ocean). They also get to go on a historic sailing ship, a submarine and learn about ocean life at the aquarium. How awesome is that?!

My son loved this camp! He learned alot more about the Maratime museums boats and had first hand expeirence on a tug, sail & row boat.

Our son, (almost 10) had a wonderful first time experience at the SF Maritime Camp; he learned so much and really loved the opportunity to sail and boat on SF Bay.

It must have been good, my son asked if he could go back to this camp again. He enjoyed sailing on the bay, learning about the boats and the ocean ecosystem. I loved that he was outside all day getting to know the bay and the life of a sailor.

Wonderful!!! My son went to this camp as a 13 year old and did not know anyone. He quickly made friends and loved the adventures everyday.

This is one my daughter's absolute favorite things to do. She looks forward to sailing camp every year. This is becoming a family tradition with us. Good work, y'all. We appreciate y'all so much.

Fantastic camp. Great activities. Great councillors. Great central location. My 8yrs. old had a blast!
