About
3 O'Clock Rock

Three O’Clock Rock is an after-school and Summer music program for kids and adults.  It is also a record label supporting youth musicians. The program offers a unique approach to teaching music and their own curriculum made for all levels of play.   Start a band, play shows, make records, and go on tour!!! We also offer a limited number of scholarships are available by season. Please check our schedule of classes for dates, times and availability. 924 Gilman Street (Alternative Music Group) is an All Ages DIY, Volunteer Run, 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, Music & Art Community Space Since 1986 AND fiscal sponsor of 3 O'Clock Rock Music Programs. 

3 O'Clock Rock was founded by Billy Ribak, a music teacher from Oakland, CA.  He has created a unique program and curriculum for all levels of musicians. Together with his talented teaching staff, they use different instruments to accompany the student in practice, teaching part by part until the whole song's complete.  Playing in a band is just more fun than by yourself. 3 O'Clock Rock wants to give opportunities to kids and adults, connecting them through a community approach, and giving them a creative voice through music.

All 3 O'Clock Rock teachers  have been TB Tested, finger printed and cleared to work in the schools by the DOJ.

Our daughter age 10 and son age 7 take keyboard and guitar lessons with 3 O'Clock Rock. Once you join the amazing community you realize it's far more than a music lesson. It is a space to build skill, confidence and a deep love of music. I am grateful to the team for their investment in our children. Nothing better than seeing our daughter be brave and have fun performing! Thank you Billy, Dylan and Sahil!

I purchased a bass guitar from 3 O'clock Rock that was described as mint condition. The condition was better than mint it was exceptional. It was superbly packaged and delivered in a timely manner. Mr. Ribak is a man of his word and you can bank on it. It's the gold standard of truth.

Hi Noriko, the 30 minute private lessons are $40 each. We do offer a combination of 30 min. private and 30 min. group lessons for $55/week. Students learn to write songs, record, and make releases complete with artwork. Please check out our student releases at 3oclockrockrecords.bandcamp.com and let me know how we can get your child involved in our programs. We would love to have them apart of 3 O'Clock Rock !
