CYT Houston

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is an after-school children's theater arts training program for students ages 4 - 18.


CYT is dedicated to developing character in children and adults through training in the arts and by producing wholesome family entertainment, all of which reflect Judeo-Christian values.


Founded in 1981
Our Staff

We require background checks on all of our staff members and volunteers, renewing the checks every two years.

Our staff consists of adults with special skills and/or training in the classes they teach, the camps and shows they direct, and all other aspects of our organization.

Often, our former CYT students return to teach classes and camps and to work on artistic (directorial) teams for productions!

What an outstanding organization! My son started CYT with a summer stock camp last summer and has never wanted to stop. We love the creative teams who work with the kids and the friendships he's made.

CYT is an exceptional organization. It is a huge blessing in both of our teenagers lives. The artistic teams not only create beautiful shows but instill conficence and character in the students. My kids can’t get enough.

This place was so formative in my development of skills specific to the arts but also in life. I am now pursuing a career as a performer and I would not be where I am without the training I received at CYT. On top of teaching kids how to better their craft, this organization provides a safe Judeo/Christian environment for kids to explore their faith and enjoy fellowship with other believers while bonding over a shared love of the theatre.
